Reflexology is becoming widely recognized as an effective treatment for many health problems and is popular because of its “feel good” factor and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. The treatment is relaxing and popular for treating stress related disorders, anxiety, depression and insomnia. It works well for any condition involving congestion, and/or inflammation, digestive disturbances, menstrual and fertility problems and is very effective method of pain relief. Reflexology is suitable for all ages, even colicky babies and very young children.
Combining Reflexology with Hot Stones is a truly relaxing and comforting treatment as the natural basalt stones are warmed to create a profound healing experience. The use of heat allows the body to become deeply relaxed, reduces tension and increases blood and lymph flow. This is a lovely treatment best enjoyed in the winter months! Hot stone reflexology can also be combined with essential oils for a deeper therapeutic effect. A prior initial consultation is required to ensure there are no contraindications.
Like so many holistic therapies Indian Head Massage (IHM) is a very ancient healing practice that has it roots in India. It stems from the ancient Indian medicinal system and way of life known as Ayurveda. The translation of this means “the art of life” and derives from the Sanscrit words “Ayur” meaning life, and “Veda” meaning knowledge.
Indian Head Massage can help to relax, soothe or invigorate and is very beneficial for physical and emotional health.
IHM involves massage of the head, neck, upper back and shoulders so any stress, tension, tightness, stiffness in these areas is released as the circulation improves. Blood flow to the brain is increased helping to relieve headaches, eye strain, tinnitus and improve concentration levels.
IHM is done in an upright-seated position and I normally advise wearing a vest type top to allow access to the upper back.
**Please note: IHM treatments for women only.**
A prior initial consultation is required to ensure there are no contraindications.
